EDK 4.2.17.0 (Frostline 1.0)

Post by Salvoxia » Wed Dec 09, 2015 22:25

\o guys,

EDK 4.2.17.0 (2015-12-09)

This release updates your database to Frostline 1.0

With this update we continued the integration of kill locations. Not only the a kill's coordinates are now saved in the database, but also the ID of the nearest celestial.
That way the nearest celestial can be accessed in kill lists without expensive calculations. The nearest celestial is now also available in the template for the kill list tables, but it's not (yet) used.
If any of you come up with a neat place to display it without clogging the whole table, let us know!
This update changed some internal data handling, please clear your cache in ACP -> Cache after applying the update to avoid errors!

However, one of the use case for kill locations mentioned in the last release post has been implemented: The top location list on the Solar System Details Page:
locationToplist.png
Location Toplist
locationToplist.png (21.32 KiB) Viewed 7338 times
This top location list shows the top 10 kill/loss locations within that Solar System for the killboard owners. It reacts to ship class filters, so you could show where in your staging system your corp/ally loses the most T3 Destroyers (for example).
Clicking on the locations does nothing yet, that's open for future updates.

In other news, the known issues from the last version have been resolved. One of them not the way one might think, though:
Posting text killmails exported by older EDK versions (prior to 4.2.15.0) that are not accurate to the second will be denied:
postingDenied.png
Posting Denied
postingDenied.png (2.74 KiB) Viewed 7338 times
That's because the kill timestamp is one of the vital informations that characterize a kill. If that information is incomplete, the kill cannot be uniquely identified (we're speaking of text killmails with no external ID). Assuming 0 seconds is not an option, because if the kill should then be pulled via API, a dupe with slightly different timestamps would be created.
It's genereally a better idea to use CREST for manual posting, as it guarantess the accuracy and correctness of the data.
I'll try and see that at least Vecati's themes will be updated to include the form for posting CREST links, so that we can get rid of text killmails eventually.

Did you change anything on displaying Lost ISK?

Code: Select all

{$k.victimisklossmil}
in killlisttable is not working for me anymore

No, nothing has changed with that.
The correct name of that variable should be

Code: Select all

{$k.victimiskloss}{/code].
Is it possible you used some special calculation that got overwritten by the update?
