[EDK4/EDK3] Advanced Search v2.7.3 [UPDATED]

Post by kazhkaz » Wed Dec 14, 2011 03:31

Important update [2013-10-26]: this mod is no longer maintaned by me, due to lack of time and killboards maintained by me. If you want something fixed/added, feel free to take the project over or do your own project based on this work. alternatively, you may try to pm me and see if i have time for it, but i won't be monitoring this thread much any longer. Thanks for everyone who used and maybe still uses this mod.

New thread for this mod, since the original one went AWOL.

I'm sorry, but the EDK2 and EDK3.1 versions are no longer available (as if there are people who still run those versions anyway).

______________________________________________
Edit by Salvoxia:
Since this mod sadly seems to be abandoned, I've taken over maintenance for it, making sure it will continue to work with current EDK versions.
Please always remind the original work was done by the thread creator and I do not claim credit for it.

Current Release: v2.7.3
Download: https://github.com/Salvoxia/advanced_se ... tag/v2.7.3
Changelog:
  • fixes for compatibility with PHP7
_______________________________________________

Now, i'm pretty much aware of the horrendously slow speeds of the mod's query, but i just can't find enough time to rewrite and optimize it. Please, be patient (for the queries and the time it'll take me to fix the darn thing).

And thanks for everyone who still keeps interested in this mod!

Thanks for bringing this back.

2 things, i have noticed.

1. the advanced search is only showing if im logged in to the KB once i log out it disappears.

2. the share URL - (i love this by the way.) seems to add a lot of extra to the end of the url

instead of this.

Code: Select all

http://the-bastards.com/kb/?a=search&p=adv_search&act=go&invshipclass=all&invpilot=TheHermit&destroyedshipclass=22&sysrange=0&killperpage=25
im getting this..

Code: Select all

Yeah, it fills in most variables from the php $_REQUEST array, thus some of the session cookies for same domain end up there as well. I'll rework the link generator to include only variables for search soon-ish, that was a quick-and-dirty fix :)

And regarding 1 - it must have something to do with the way killboard activates mods, i'll look into it.

Also need to update some stuff, since it's tossing (on my 5.3.3 php installation):
DEPRECATED [8192] mysql_escape_string() [function.mysql-real-escape-string]: This function is deprecated; use mysql_real_escape_string() instead.
Error on line 116 in file /usr/local/kb/mods/advanced_search/class.advkilllist.php
when i search on ship-type (adv search -> ship type, no other search options)

I was able to hide the warnings by modifying index.php to not try to specially report them (adding E_DEPRECATED to the set of things EDKError doesn't handle) so i at least don't have a gigantic warning on my search results page, but it still needs to be dealt with :)

I'm not sure if you're interested in adding new features to this mod, but I've made a request and your search mod is the closest thing that exists to it for EDK. Here's the link to the new topic.
http://eve-id.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=505&t=18626

It probably deserves/needs it's own mod, but I wanted to point it out to you in case you were interested in expanding this one.

Hey, sorry for the late reply - been sort of busy, i have noted your request and in case noone replies to it i'll see to either doing a new one or integrating it into adv. search when i'll get the time to spare (apparently i'm a very busy person, and the new game releases aren't helping it at all ).

incorrect description of the search by date. Should be written like this:
Similar to the above, accepts date sets and ranges (dates are in format 'Y.m.d' - 4-digit year, followed by two-digit month and then by two-digit day, separated by dashes) exaples: 2012.03.01-2012.06.30.
