Mishandling of Malformed Killmails

Post by MiloC »

Not too sure how fixable this is. May require input on CCP's end:

I've noticed a few killmails cropping up here modules show under 'implant' on a ship, rather than in their assigned slot. (Example here)

This does appear to be something coming through w/ CREST:

Code: Select all

2015.08.20 02:17

Victim: Admiral Griggs
Corp: Origin.
Alliance: Black Legion.
Faction: None
Destroyed: Sleipnir
System: Arnher
Security: 0.2
Damage Taken: 45353

Involved parties:

Name: Ouverture
Security: -9.3
Corp: Fluffy Puppy Fight Club
Alliance: Multicultural F1 Brigade
Faction: None
Ship: Myrmidon
Weapon: Gecko
Damage Done: 24439

Name: Veikitamo Gesakaarin (laid the final blow)
Security: -8.8
Corp: Pyre Falcon Defence and Security
Alliance: Multicultural F1 Brigade
Faction: None
Ship: Gila
Weapon: Caldari Navy Scourge Light Missile
Damage Done: 13301

Name: nommnomm nommnomm
Security: -3.3
Corp: Fluffy Puppy Fight Club
Alliance: Multicultural F1 Brigade
Faction: None
Ship: Oracle
Weapon: Oracle
Damage Done: 7613

Destroyed items:

Arch Angel Depleted Uranium M, Qty: 2500 (Cargo)
Republic Fleet Fusion M, Qty: 2500 (Cargo)
Barrage M, Qty: 2500 (Cargo)
Improved Drop Booster (Cargo)
Republic Fleet Phased Plasma M, Qty: 2500 (Cargo)
Hail M, Qty: 2500 (Cargo)
Republic Fleet EMP M, Qty: 1024 (Cargo)
Strong Blue Pill Booster (Cargo)
Republic Fleet Gyrostabilizer
Navy Cap Booster 400, Qty: 3
X-Large Ancillary Shield Booster
Dark Blood Stasis Webifier
Republic Fleet EMP M, Qty: 87
425mm AutoCannon II, Qty: 2
Hobgoblin II (Drone Bay)
50MN Y-T8 Compact Microwarpdrive (Implant)
Medium Anti-Kinetic Screen Reinforcer II
Medium Ancillary Current Router II

Dropped items:

Navy Cap Booster 400, Qty: 16 (Cargo)
Dread Guristas Co-Processor
Internal Force Field Array I
Republic Fleet Gyrostabilizer, Qty: 2
X-Large Ancillary Shield Booster
Dark Blood Warp Scrambler
425mm AutoCannon II, Qty: 3
Republic Fleet EMP M, Qty: 87
Small Unstable Power Fluctuator I, Qty: 2
Hobgoblin II, Qty: 4 (Drone Bay)
Would it be possible to remove the (Implant) tag on entries than are definitely not implants (i.e. '50MN Y-T8 Compact Microwarpdrive (Implant)') to avoid this when parsing malformed killmails?

Hi,

this is a problem specific to eve-kill. I strongly advise not to fetch from eve-kill anymore, but to use either beta.eve-kill.net or zkillboard.com.
I'm not particularly happy about introducing a fix for the misbehavior of one site.
And I also strongly advise to no longer use killmails in any form. It's a lossy format for transporting kills that is easily manipulated, CREST links offer all features to completely eliminate the need for killmails. In fresh EDK installations posting of Killmails is disabled by default.

Salvoxia

I disabled manual posting for anything but CREST a while ago. Is this kind of error coming exclusively from http://eve-kill.net/?a=idfeed?

Correct, that's what I meant to explain.

Hi,

beta.eve-kill.net is a variant of zKillboard. So no more Feed Syndication for that, but zKB Fetch.
