cleared cache. disabled mod. went to the FTP and removed all files in the cache/templates_c directory. deleted highlight_capitals directory. uploaded latest version from github, reenabled mod.. works fine. disabled and it throws the error.

Hi,
the mod overrides the killlisttable Template provided by any previously loaded mods or the used template.
So if disabling it causes the error to occur, that suggests that the killlisttable template loaded instead (assuming it's the one provided by the template) is corrupt.
Check whether any other mods (which are enabled) bring their own version of this template and if not re-download your theme and replace your killlisttable.tpl with the downloaded one.

i re-uploaded the templates directory from a fresh download of the killboard. problem solved.

Updated OP with the new version 1.4 with support for displaying daily stats summaries.
