Hey hey,
recently I set up a fresh instance of the EDK and started to fetch all Killmails from some groups on my Killboard.
First I took a look at my own corp and just compared the zKillboard All Time Top and the Ships & Weapons on the EDK:
EDK Ships & Weapons
zKillboard All Time Top
If you look at the Proteus it is "on 5786 Kills" vs. "on 1120 Kills" but it is still possible, then i started to check other groups i have fetched:
EDK Ships & Weapons
zKillboard All Time Top
and there you see that 71451 Kills with a Gila is not possible when the group only got 41604 Kills.
Citri
Ships & Weapons count is wrong.
Re: Ships & Weapons count is wrong.
Hi,
I took a quick look at the code.
Th meaning of the numbers are a bit different than at zKillboard. Granted, there is no explanation as to how the numbers are calculated.
At zKillboard, the number "1" for a ship in the top ship list means, that there is one kill on which that ship was used.
EDK thinks a bit differently: A "1" for a ship in the EDK top ships list means, that there was one involved party on one kill using that ship.
So a single kill with 50 guys from the same corp, all using the same ship, would result in an entry with "50" for that ship on the top list.
I did not define the way these numbers are calculated, but I think using that way, the overall proportions of the various ship types used are displayed more accurately. It's basically the numbers zKillboard uses, but weighted according to the number of pilots on each kill using a specific ship.
This Obvious Shell Corp is a nice example: https://www.stille-gewalt.tk/kb/?a=corp ... ps_weapons
30 Kills in Total, but the sum of all top ships is 33.
In the 3 kills, two of these guys were involved, one of them flying the Prorator, the other flying the Nemesis.
I hope I made any sense
Best Regards,

Re: Ships & Weapons count is wrong.
Thank you for the quick reply,
to be honest, it is more meaningful on that way also and acctually I like it now.
For example, if you have a Sabre in every fleet on every killmail it would be the top ship, but it would be ignored that there are 25 gilas in every fleet, so on that way you see an acctual and serious amount of ships used by the group.
Yeah thats cool
