Wrapping my killboard with my current SMF theme etc...

Post by Zagdul »

OK, I have a site: http://fatalascension.com/killboard/

as you can see, it's transparent so it needs a background...

Here's the site with a Bloc template I purchased:

http://fatalascension.com/forum/

Here's what I want it to look like:
http://fatalascension.com/forum/index.p ... =Killboard

I achieved this by using Custom Actions and just including an iframe. There is a problem though.

http://fatalascension.com/killboard/?a= ... ll_id=1636

When I directly link to one of the kills, it doesn't include the entire site.

What is the best (and easiest) way to wrap the Killboard with SMF and still be able to directly link to pages on the killboard?

Few ideas I had...
1. Is there a way to possibly send a request when the URL is linked to force it into the iframe?
2. Wrap the killboard site with the smf site, what's the best way to go about this?
3. Create a style for the killboard that mimic's the Bloc template... <-- this would be a LOT of work and I'd lose a lot of functionality.

Thanks in advance.. :)

Is it possible that you post your solution so that others can use it aswell?

I'm in the same boat. My test site is here:

http://smf.bijkersworld.com/index.php?action=kb

I couldn't get it to work with just an iframe, it would erase the main sites' banner and mainmenu. I used an AJAX script to push the site to an iframe. Problems with that are allignment which only seem to work in IE. Firefox shows the site off center.

Next step would be to change the kb theme to fit the main site theme.

I would really appreciate it if you could share your custom action code.

Thanks.

Hello

I have a similar need - I want my KB to have same [color wise] template as my SMF forums. I can provide you with forums theme files.

We can do this for some ISK, if you want.
